Article 1 (Standard) The Research Institute of Curriculum & Instruction(RICI) establishes and enacts these article submission guidelines based on Article 2, Section 1 of the rules of the editorial board.

Article 2 (Application) These guidelines shall be applied to all manuscripts submitted to the RICI journal.

Articles may be submitted by any expert in curriculum and instruction.

Manuscripts submitted to the Journal of Research in Curriculum & Instruction must include content concerning the theory and practice of early childhood, elementary, and middle school educational curricula, or they must be original research articles with the potential to directly improve teaching and learning.

Manuscripts must not be already published, preparing for publication, or under review in other journals.

In principle, two articles by the same author(s) (including co-authors) must not be published in the same issue.

If there are two or more authors for a submitted article, the first author and co-author(s) must be distinguished by order and indicated separately. The corresponding author may also be indicated in the article, if applicable.

Article 4 (Research ethics compliance) Authors submitting articles must comply with this journal’s code of research ethics.

Article 5 (Publication schedule) The Journal of Research in Curriculum & Instruction is published bimonthly for a total of 6 issues a year (published last day of February, April, June, August, October, and December).

Article 6 (Publication rights) The RICI holds publication rights to all manuscripts published in the journal.

Article 7 (Language) All submissions must be written in Korean or English.

Article 8 (Manuscript preparation) All manuscripts must be within 15 pages in length, written on A4 paper, prepared according to the RICI’s “Formatting Guidelines for Manuscript Submission and Publication.”

(Title) The title should be presented in Korean and English, briefly and clearly describing the research content in approximately 15 words.

(Abstract and keywords) The article must include Korean and English abstracts, and 3∼5 keywords (Korean and English).

(Tables and figures) Titles and captions for all figures, photographs, and tables provided in the article must be presented in English.

(References) All references should be presented in English following APA(American Psychological Association: http://www.apa.org/) format.

Article 9 (Manuscript submission and presentation) All manuscripts must be submitted via the online submission system. Authors should run a KCI originality check and submit the report along with their manuscript. Authors should send all other inquiries about submission or presentation to the RICI email address(rici@ewha.ac.kr).

Article 10 (Charges for review and publication)

Authors submitting articles are required to pay KRW 60,000 for review.

However, graduate students (in the case of first author or corresponding author) are exempted from the review charges in order to encourage their academic activities.

Authors are required to pay publication fees for manuscripts confirmed for journal publication.

The publication fee is KRW 200,000 per article (KRW 300,000 per article that received research funds).

Manuscripts exceeding 12 pages incur an additional charge of KRW 20,000 per additional page.

Article 11 (Other decisions) Matters not contained in these guidelines are to be determined by the editorial board.
